Job Description
- Lead, mentor, and manage all the department teams.
- Oversee the end-to-end book development process (manuscript acquisition, editing, design, and production).
- Develop and implement the department’s strategy to achieve content and market growth targets.
- Monitor industry trends and academic publishing standards to maintain competitiveness.
- Ensure academic accuracy, editorial quality, and compliance with curriculum/educational standards.
- Develop and manage content creation schedules to ensure timely delivery.
- Collaborate with marketing, sales, and distribution teams to support product launch and availability.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with authors, educators, and academic partners.
- Prepare and manage department budgets.
- Monitor KPIs such as production timelines, sales performance, and content quality.
- Optimize resources and reduce costs without compromising quality.
- Represent the company at academic events, conferences, and industry exhibitions
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Curriculum Development, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- 7–12+ years in academic content development, curriculum design, or educational publishing.
- 3–5 years in a leadership or managerial role
