Job Description

• Develop and implement a group-wide maintenance and reliability strategy covering all group’s activities.
• Standardize maintenance policies, procedures, KPIs, and reporting across all sites.
• Introduce preventive, predictive, and condition-based maintenance programs.
• Oversee maintenance of heavy machinery, production lines, furnaces, refining equipment, utilities, and supporting infrastructure.
• Ensure high availability and reliability of refinery-critical assets (melting, casting, purification, safety systems).
• Coordinate shutdowns, turnarounds, and major overhauls with production leadership.
• Implement root cause analysis (RCA) for failures and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with Local and international HSE standards, Environmental regulations & Fire, electrical, and industrial safety codes.
• Lead risk assessments, audits, and emergency response planning.
• Ensure contractor safety compliance across all sites.
• Maintain accurate asset registers and maintenance history.
• Lead equipment refurbishment, upgrades, and replacement planning.
• Support CAPEX planning, new factory setups, refinery upgrades, and technology investments.
• Collaborate with finance on asset capitalization and depreciation inputs.
• Select and manage OEMs, contractors, and service providers.
• Negotiate SLAs, long-term service agreements, and spare parts contracts.
• Implement CMMS/EAM systems and maintenance analytics tools across the Group.
• Prepare and control group maintenance budgets.
• Optimize spare parts inventory and reduce maintenance cost per unit.
• Track and report maintenance performance metrics to executive management.
• Lead and develop maintenance managers, engineers, supervisors, and technicians.
• Build technical capability and succession plans across Egypt & GCC.
• Promote a culture of reliability, safety, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Chemical Engineering
• 15+ years of experience in maintenance/engineering leadership.
• Proven experience managing, manufacturing plants, industrial facilities or refineries, multi-country operations (Egypt & GCC)
• Strong exposure to reliability engineering and industrial safety systems.

• Strong leadership across large, multi-site teams.
• Excellent knowledge of refinery operations, industrial utilities, and production equipment.
• Budgeting, CAPEX planning, and cost optimization skills.
• High-level problem solving, RCA, and decision-making capability.
• Strong communication skills with executive leadership and plant management.
