With Mohamed Ramadan — the largest Arabic artist in the world — signed exclusively, formal partnerships with Tier A stakeholders and a global distribution infrastructure, we are building the operating system that 25,000+ artists across MENA and Africa will run their careers on.

We are now scaling our Cairo operations and seeking a General Manager to own the day-to-day operations of the company.

THE ROLE

As General Manager, you will be the operational anchor of Distoor. You will lead day-to-day execution across artist operations, partnerships, finance coordination, and team management — working directly with the founding team to translate strategy into delivery.

This is a senior, hands-on role that combines startup energy with structured execution.

You will be the connective tissue between artists, internal teams, external partners, and the executive team. The role is based on-site in Cairo and requires deep regional understanding of the MENA music and creative industries.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Own day-to-day operations across artist onboarding, distribution coordination, partner relationships, and internal team workflows.

• Manage and grow the Cairo team, including artist success, partnerships, and operations functions — directly hiring, onboarding, and mentoring as the team scales.

• Serve as the primary operational point of contact for Distoor’s signed artists — including Mohamed Ramadan and the founding roster — ensuring their experience on the platform is seamless and best-in-class.

• Coordinate cross-functionally with the executive team across product, finance, music operations, and technology to ensure strategic priorities translate into shipped outcomes.

• Manage relationships with key external partners including WIO Bank, SonoSuite, Merlin, TikTok/SoundOn, Meta and regional advertising and live booking agencies.

• Lead operational planning, KPI tracking, and weekly reporting to the executive team — building the rhythm of operations as the company scales from anchor markets to 25,000+ artists.

• Oversee artist acquisition pipeline execution in Egypt and the UAE, working with the Music team to convert pipeline into onboarded artists.

• Manage office operations, vendor relationships, and local administrative functions for the Cairo entity.

• Represent Distoor in industry-facing meetings, partner negotiations, and select artist conversations alongside the executive team.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

• 7+ years of operational leadership experience, ideally in startups, music, media, tech, or creative industries.

• Proven track record of running day-to-day operations at a growth-stage company — scaling teams, processes, and systems while maintaining execution quality.

• Deep understanding of the MENA music industry, creative economy, or digital media landscape. Existing relationships with artists, labels, or industry stakeholders are a strong plus.

• Strong commercial instincts — comfortable owning operational KPIs, working with financial models, and making prioritization calls with incomplete information.

• People leadership experience with demonstrated success in hiring, managing, and developing teams in a fast-moving environment.

• Excellent communication skills in both Arabic and English (written and spoken). French is a plus.

• Comfort operating in ambiguity, with the discipline to bring structure where structure is needed.

• Based in Cairo or willing to relocate. Travel to Dubai, Riyadh, and other regional markets as needed.
