JOB PURPOSE

To manage and support treasury operations activities related to processing, settlement, monitoring, reconciliation, and reporting of treasury transactions across Money Market, Foreign Exchange, and Fixed Income desks. The role ensures accurate execution of treasury back-office functions, timely settlement of cash flows and payments, compliance with bank policies and Central Bank regulations, and proper control over treasury operational activities to support business continuity and operational efficiency.

3. JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Process and settle treasury transactions related to Money Market, Foreign Exchange, and Fixed Income activities accurately and within agreed timelines.
2. Perform daily reconciliations of treasury accounts, nostro accounts, and cash flow movements to ensure all transactions are completed and recorded correctly.
3. Ensure all treasury transactions comply with internal bank policies, procedures, and Central Bank regulations to minimize operational and compliance risks.
4. Verify transaction details, rates, and settlement instructions to avoid discrepancies, operational errors, or financial losses.
5. Prepare treasury operational reports and support management with accurate data and information for monitoring and decision-making purposes.
6. Coordinate with internal departments, counterparties, and correspondent banks to resolve settlement issues and ensure smooth transaction processing.
7. Support the Treasury Front Office by ensuring efficient operational processing and timely execution of treasury activities.
8. Maintain proper controls, documentation, and record keeping for treasury operations activities while adhering to the bank’s SOPs and operational standards.

Qualifications and Education

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Economics, Banking, or any relevant field.
• Professional Treasury, Finance, or Banking certification is considered an advantage.
• Good understanding of treasury products and banking operations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
• Team-oriented with a high level of integrity and professionalism.
• Self-motivated, dependable, and willing to learn new skills.

Work Experience

• Minimum 2–5 years of experience in Treasury Operations or Treasury Back Office within the banking sector.
• Basic understanding of Treasury products including Money Market, FX, and Fixed Income.
• Experience in SWIFT operations, settlements, and reconciliations is preferred.
