Job Description

  • Oversee and manage the daily operations of the accounting department, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
  • Prepare and review financial statements, reports, and budgets to support strategic decision-making.
  • Coordinate and complete annual audits, liaising with external auditors as required.
  • Develop and implement accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to enhance efficiency and safeguard assets.
  • Supervise, mentor, and evaluate accounting staff, fostering professional growth and high performance.
  • Ensure timely and accurate month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Monitor and analyze accounting data, producing financial reports and recommendations for management.
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely processing and reconciliation.
  • Collaborate with other departments to support overall business objectives and financial planning.
  • Stay updated on changes in accounting regulations and best practices, ensuring ongoing compliance.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance roles, with at least 5 years in a supervisory or managerial capacity preferred in travel companies or in the tourism filled at least.
  • Proven experience in managing accounting operations, including budgeting, reporting, and audit processes.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and regulations (e.g., GAAP, IFRS).
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a team of accounting professionals.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in financial data management.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration across departments.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in the travel or hospitality industry is an advantage.
