Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site position based in Cairo for the role of FMCG Import Specialist. The responsibilities include managing import operations, ensuring compliance with international trade regulations, handling export and import documentation, and coordinating with customers regarding shipment management and trade inquiries. The specialist will collaborate with internal teams to streamline import/export processes and maintain excellent relationships with clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the end-to-end import process from purchase order issuance to final delivery.
  • Coordinate with international suppliers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and shipping lines.
  • Prepare, review, and follow up on import documentation, including commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, certificates of origin, and other required documents.
  • Track shipments and ensure timely customs clearance and delivery.
  • Handle import permits and ensure compliance with customs regulations and governmental requirements.
  • Monitor shipping costs, demurrage, and logistics expenses.
  • Resolve shipment delays, discrepancies, and documentation issues.
  • Maintain accurate records and prepare import reports as required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Supply Chain, Logistics, International Trade, or a related field.
  • 2–5 years of experience in import operations, preferably within the food or FMCG industry.
  • Experience handling bulk imports and international suppliers.
  • Strong knowledge of customs regulations, import documentation, and shipping procedures.
  • Familiarity with Incoterms and international trade practices.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and coordination skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Good command of English, both written and spoken.
