Job OverviewWe are looking for a detail-oriented Junior Git Administrator to help manage our source code repositories and assist our development team with version control workflows. In this role, you will be the “go-to” person for maintaining repository health, managing branches, and troubleshooting common Git issues.Key ResponsibilitiesRepository Management: Set up and maintain repositories on platforms like GitHub, GitLab, or Bitbucket.Branching & Merging: Assist developers with branching strategies and resolving complex merge conflicts.Access Control: Manage user permissions and team access to various codebases.Workflow Support: Help the team perform “undo” operations (like resets and reverts) and maintain a clean commit history.Documentation: Create and update internal guides on team-specific Git best practices and deployment workflows.Required SkillsGit Proficiency: Strong understanding of core commands (commit, push, pull, merge, rebase, reset).Problem Solving: Ability to diagnose and fix repository inconsistencies or “detached HEAD” states.Attention to Detail: Meticulous approach to tracking version history and documentation.Communication: Ability to explain technical version control concepts to both junior and senior developers.QualificationsExperience: 0–2 years of experience in software development or IT support.Education: Degree in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent practical experience.Bonus: Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions) or basic scripting (Bash, Python).
