Job Description

• Design and develop mechanical layouts and enclosures for MV switchgear, ring main units (RMU), and distribution panels.
• Prepare detailed 2D/3D CAD drawings, fabrication drawings, and Bill of Materials (BOM).
• Ensure designs comply with IEC 62271 / IEEE standards, safety codes, and company guidelines.
• Collaborate with electrical design engineers to integrate busbars, circuit breakers, CTs/VTs, and other components into MV enclosures.
• Optimize designs for sheet metal fabrication, cost-effectiveness, manufacturability, and assembly processes.
• Coordinate with production, quality, and suppliers regarding material selection, CNC processing, punching, welding, and finishing.
• Support type testing, prototyping, and validation of new MV designs.
• Implement design standardization and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 2–4 years of proven experience in mechanical design of MV switchgear/panels (up to 36kV or higher).
• Strong knowledge of sheet metal design, enclosure manufacturing, and fabrication techniques.
• Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar).
• Familiarity with IEC 62271 standards and MV panel design requirements.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and deliver high-quality designs under deadlines.
