Job Purpose

The Molds Maintenance Manager is responsible for managing and optimizing all mold maintenance activities across the factory to ensure maximum mold availability, reliability, and performance. The role leads preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs for injection, blow, and production molds while driving operational excellence, continuous improvement, cost optimization, and safety compliance to support manufacturing productivity and quality objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance strategies for all production molds.  
• Ensure timely execution of corrective maintenance activities to minimize production downtime. 
• Establish maintenance standards, schedules, and procedures to maximize mold lifespan and performance. 
• Monitor mold conditions and recommend repair, refurbishment, or replacement actions when required.  
• Ensure all molds are maintained according to technical specifications and operational requirements. 
• Analyze mold failures and conduct root cause analysis to eliminate recurring issues. 
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance mold efficiency, durability, and reliability. 
• Implement TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) principles within mold maintenance activities. 
• Identify opportunities to improve mold design, maintenance practices, and operational performance. 
• Drive initiatives to reduce maintenance costs while maintaining high reliability standards. 
• Ensure mold readiness and availability to support production plans and customer demand. 
• Coordinate closely with Production, Quality, Planning, and Engineering teams to minimize operational disruptions. 
• Support new product launches and mold trials to ensure successful production implementation. 
• Participate in process optimization and productivity improvement projects. 
• Lead, coach, and develop the mold maintenance team including engineers, supervisors, technicians, and toolmakers. 
• Manage mold spare parts inventory and ensure availability of critical components. 
• Establish inventory control measures to optimize stock levels and reduce downtime risks. 
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, mold histories, and technical documentation. 
• Ensure proper asset tracking and lifecycle management of molds. 
• Prepare and manage the annual mold maintenance budget. 
• Monitor maintenance expenditures and identify cost-saving opportunities. 
• Evaluate and manage external vendors and service providers related to mold maintenance and repairs. 
• Ensure efficient utilization of resources while maintaining operational effectiveness. 
• Ensure all maintenance activities comply with company HSE policies and procedures. 
• Conduct risk assessments and promote safe work practices. 
• Ensure compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements. 
• Support internal and external audits related to maintenance operations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field. 
• Professional certifications in Maintenance Management, TPM, Reliability Engineering, Lean Manufacturing, or Six Sigma are preferred. 
• 10–15 years of experience in maintenance within a manufacturing environment. 
• Minimum 5 years in a managerial role overseeing mold maintenance operations. 
• Strong experience in plastic injection molds, blow molds, rotational molds, or similar manufacturing tooling systems. 
• Experience within plastics, water tanks, packaging, FMCG, or industrial manufacturing environments is highly preferred.
