As our global infrastructure continues to expand, we are seeking an experienced Head of VPS Infrastructure to lead the architecture, operations, performance, reliability, and growth of our VPS platform.

This is a senior technical leadership role for someone who combines deep expertise in Linux systems, virtualization, hosting infrastructure, networking, and large-scale operations with the ability to lead critical infrastructure initiatives across a global environment.

Role Overview

The Head of VPS Infrastructure will be responsible for the end-to-end ownership of UltaHost’s VPS platform.

This is a highly technical and hands-on position. You will be expected to actively participate in infrastructure design, platform architecture, troubleshooting, optimization, automation, deployment, and operational decision-making.

You will oversee the entire VPS ecosystem, including virtualization platforms, Linux server environments, provisioning systems, hosting integrations, networking, monitoring, storage infrastructure, and platform reliability.

The ideal candidate has extensive experience operating production hosting environments and understands the technologies, operational challenges, and customer expectations associated with modern VPS and cloud infrastructure platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Own and manage the VPS infrastructure platform across all global locations.
• Design, deploy, maintain, and optimize virtualization clusters and VPS infrastructure environments.
• Lead infrastructure architecture decisions related to virtualization, storage, networking, security, and scalability.
• Manage and optimize KVM, Proxmox, OpenStack, VMware, Hyper-V, and related virtualization technologies.
• Oversee VPS provisioning systems, automation workflows, and platform lifecycle management.
• Troubleshoot complex infrastructure, virtualization, networking, storage, and operating system issues.
• Define infrastructure standards, operational procedures, and technical best practices.
• Drive automation initiatives to improve scalability, reliability, operational efficiency, and service delivery.
• Collaborate closely with Systems Administration, DevOps, Infrastructure, Network Engineering, and Support teams.
• Evaluate and implement new technologies, infrastructure solutions, and platform improvements.
• Manage platform performance, uptime, capacity planning, resource utilization, and infrastructure growth.
• Lead incident response efforts and oversee root cause analysis for critical infrastructure events.
• Ensure the VPS platform maintains industry-leading levels of reliability, security, and performance.
• Participate in hardware selection, datacenter expansion initiatives, and infrastructure investment planning.
• Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to infrastructure and systems teams.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience managing Linux-based hosting, VPS, cloud, or infrastructure environments.
• Strong hands-on experience with virtualization technologies including KVM, Proxmox VE, OpenStack, VMware, Hyper-V, or similar platforms.
• Deep expertise in Linux systems administration across distributions such as AlmaLinux, Rocky Linux, Ubuntu, Debian, and related server operating systems.
• Strong knowledge of web hosting technologies and infrastructure ecosystems.
• Extensive experience with hosting control panels including cPanel, WHM, Plesk, DirectAdmin, CyberPanel, Webuzo, and related platforms.
• Strong understanding of web server technologies including Apache, NGINX, LiteSpeed, OpenLiteSpeed, reverse proxy architectures, and caching solutions.
• Experience managing DNS infrastructure, mail services, networking environments, firewalls, routing, and infrastructure security.
• Solid understanding of IPv4, IPv6, VPN technologies, load balancing, DDoS mitigation, CDN architectures, and network optimization.
• Experience with storage technologies including Ceph, RAID configurations, SAN, NAS, NVMe storage systems, and high-availability environments.
• Strong knowledge of monitoring, observability, logging, and alerting platforms.
• Experience with infrastructure automation, scripting, orchestration, and provisioning systems.
• Familiarity with hosting management and automation platforms such as WHMCS, Virtualizor, SolusVM, CloudLinux, Imunify360, JetBackup, Softaculous, and related technologies.
• Proven ability to diagnose and resolve complex infrastructure and performance issues in production environments.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Professional English proficiency.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience working for a hosting provider, cloud platform, datacenter operator, VPS provider, or infrastructure-focused technology company.
• Experience managing globally distributed infrastructure environments.
• Experience with large-scale VPS deployments serving thousands of active customers.
• Familiarity with containerization and cloud-native technologies.
• Experience leading infrastructure teams in high-growth environments.
