Developer / AI Builder — fully remote, Shopify Plus DTC, reports to Chief AI and Growth Officer

Most companies say they are AI native. This one hired an executive whose entire mandate is to make it real.

We are partnering with a fast scaling US DTC brand running a booming Shopify Plus operation at real revenue scale. They have brought in a Chief AI and Growth Officer to rebuild how the company ships, sells, and operates with AI at the centre, and this is the first builder that leader is hiring.

The role reports directly to the CAGO. The scope is broader than any title could capture.

What you will ship

• Shopify and headless commerce builds. Next.js apps, landing pages, and internal dashboards. Figma to production, no designer holding your hand.
• Vercel deploys and modern web infrastructure.
• AI powered workflows, agents, and internal tools that move growth, creative, ops, and customer experience teams faster.
• OpenCLAW style automation pipelines other teams can build on.

Who you are

• You treat Claude Code or GPT Codex as core tooling, not novelty.
• You have shipped real Shopify or headless commerce work and can point to live URLs.
• You can read a Figma file and produce a clean, responsive, converting page without a designer babysitting you.
• You have shipped at least one AI agent, RAG pipeline, or automation that solved an actual business problem.
• You move between frontend, backend, integrations, and AI workflows without losing a day to context switching.
• You have taste. The work you ship feels intentional, not templated.

Nice to have

• Headless Shopify in production.
• High converting landing page or funnel builds for DTC. Meta, Google, TikTok, or Amazon ad and data API experience.
• AI agent frameworks.
• Internal dashboards, reporting tools, automation platforms.
• Postgres, Supabase, Neon, BigQuery, or Redis fluency.

The deal

Genuinely flexible engagement. Freelance, contract, part time, or full time, depending on fit. Fully remote. We hire on output. Pedigree, location, and degrees do not matter.
