Sukari is located approximately 750km from Cairo and 25km from Marsa Alam on the Red Sea. First gold was poured in June 2009 and commercial production began in April 2010, making Sukari the first modern gold mine in Egypt, a country which in ancient times was a prolific producer of the precious metal. Sukari conducts both open-pit and underground mining operations, each employing specialized mining methods tailored to the orebody characteristics and operational requirements.
 
The Role
 
We are looking for an Offsider to contribute in achieving drilling advance safely and efficiently by maintaining housekeeping and hazard controls, supporting minor equipment care within competency, and ensuring materials are available to minimize delays and unplanned downtime.
 

• Location: On-site in Marsa Alam
• Contract Type: Permanent, full-time
• Schedule: 20/10 working roster

The Key Responsibilities
 

• Rig Support & Relocation: Assist with rapid rig setups, teardowns, and rod handling (pulling/tripping rods) to maximize drilling shift meters.

• Core Handling & Recovery: Safely extracted, clean, orient, and match gold-bearing core samples into core boxes with zero marking errors for the geology team.

• Fluid & Consumable Management: Monitor drilling fluid levels, mud mixes, and ensure the rig is constantly supplied with bits, tubes, and greases.

• Housekeeping & Safety: Maintain a spotless underground work area to eliminate trip hazards and comply with strict gold mine safety protocols.

 
The Requirements
 

• Any Basic educational degree
• Experience in Heavy industry or construction
• Drivers Licence
