In Aqualia Egypt, we are currently looking for a Commercial Engineer, based in New Cairo.

Responsabilities:

• Identify new market opportunities and build strong relationships with partners/ clients decision-makers.

• Analyze tender documents and prepare competitive cost estimates for infrastructure projects (preferably Civils).

• Manage contracts (FIDIC or similar standards), ensuring all parties adhere to the terms and conditions.

• Lead the preparation of commercial tenders, including cost estimation, risk assessment, and pricing strategies.

• Negotiate commercial terms, service level agreements (SLAs), and project variations to protect company margins.

• Work closely with the Engineering, Finance, and Legal teams to ensure projects are delivered according to contractual obligations.

• Monitor industry trends and competitor activity to provide feedback on projects development and pricing.

• Identify changes in the project scope on-site, calculate the cost impact, and negotiate price adjustments with the client or consultant.

• Monitoring and Review suppliers/sub-contractor offers/bids.

• Strong writing skills in formal/contractual communications.

• Prepare and defend extension of time (EOT) claims and additional cost claims arising from delays or unforeseen site conditions.

• Strong understanding of P&L, budgeting, and financial forecasting.

• Ability to translate “engineer-speak” into clear business benefits for stakeholders.

• A proactive approach to identifying technical bottlenecks and finding cost-effective workarounds.

Requirements:

• 3–7 years of experience in a technical sales, cost engineering, or commercial management role.

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or related field). MBA or a certification in Project Management (PMP) is a major plus.

• Good understanding of the construction industry independent working style and ability to work well with minimal supervision Knowledge in modeling.

• Proven track record of closing high-value contracts and managing vendor relationships.

• Excellent Fluent English communication skills, both verbal and written.
